Kidd assumes helm of Oklahoma Caring Foundation

Kidd has served the foundation for more than five years, joining the board as treasurer in 2001. Upon accepting his new role, Kidd reaffirmed his commitment to the foundation’s mission of improving the health of Oklahoma children. Kidd added that the foundation will continue to ensure that donated funds are reinvested in the community in the most efficient manner possible.
Kidd was named president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma in October 2005.
He is a 25-year veteran of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield system, holding senior executive-level positions with Plans in Colorado, New Mexico and Virginia before beginning his tenure as the Oklahoma Plan’s executive vice president and chief financial officer in 2000.
Kidd replaces retiring Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ron King, who also led the foundation for the past decade.
The Oklahoma Caring Foundation, Inc., provides Oklahoma children with vaccinations, education and access to basic health care. Established in 1994 as a 501(c)(3) organization, the foundation is funded by community contributions and administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma as an in-kind donation.
