Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma Announces 2022 Volunteer of the Year
Tulsa, Oklahoma — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) named employee Kristi Acosta its 2022 Volunteer of the Year. Acosta, a customer service senior supervisor based in Tulsa, regularly volunteers at the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and Emergency Infant Services. She also enjoys planning and participating in corporate-sponsored volunteer opportunities.
"I volunteer out of the kindness of my heart," said Acosta. "I don't expect anything in return, as I want to help others."
Acosta has 23 years of service with the company and served in BCBSOK’s Blue Corps Employee Volunteer Program. In 2022, she volunteered more than 50 hours. For every hour of hands-on volunteering an employee spends with a nonprofit community partner, BCBSOK donates $20 to the organization through our Blue Corps℠ Matching Dollars program.
In honor of her award, BCBSOK also donated $1,000 to her charity of choice, Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.
“Kristi has a heart for volunteerism, and she’s incredibly deserving of this honor,” said BCBSOK President Stephania Grober. “We encourage our employees to volunteer because we live in the communities we are serving. As a company, we partner with more than 150 local nonprofit organizations in our state. With the support of volunteers like Kristi, we continue building community partnerships and making an impact.”
Outside of work and volunteering, Acosta enjoys spending time with her family and cheering at her son’s baseball and soccer games.

TULSA, Oklahoma — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma (BCBSOK) seleccionó a Kristi Acosta como la Voluntaria del Año 2022. La señora Acosta, supervisora senior de servicio al cliente en Tulsa, regularmente realiza actividades de voluntariado con Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma y Emergency Infant Services. Ella también disfruta planificar y participar en las oportunidades de voluntariado patrocinadas por la empresa.
"Realizo actividades de voluntariado por la bondad de mi corazón", dijo Acosta. "No espero nada a cambio, solo quiero ayudar a los demás”.

En honor a su premio, BCBSOK también donó $1,000 a Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, la entidad benéfica elegida por Acosta.
