Applications open through May 1

TULSA, Okla. — Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma's major grant program, Blue Impact^℠, is accepting applications through May 1. 

The Blue Impact grant program is part of our community investment strategy focused on the social determinants of health. This program, along with other BCBSOK community investments, target the social and economic factors that play a role in health and wellness.

“At Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, we believe in the power of community and our Blue Impact grant program is a testament to that commitment,” said Stephania Grober, BCBSOK President. “Through these grants, we are proud to support organizations that are making a tangible difference in the lives of Oklahomans. We look forward to seeing the positive change that this year’s grant recipients will bring to the people they serve.”

Blue Impact invests in and partners with nonprofits that offer sustainable, measurable programs to reach Oklahomans in these five areas of focus:

• Economic Opportunity and Stability: Addressing issues such as poverty, employment barriers, providing good jobs and upskilling.
• Nutrition: Supporting efforts to decrease hunger and increase access to nutritious food.
• Neighborhood and Local Assets: Focusing on affordable healthy housing, as well as access to transportation and physical activity.
• Locally Defined Health Solutions: Addressing local health and human service needs.
• Optimal Health Outcomes: Helping close care gaps, specifically around six priority areas — immunizations, diabetes care, cardiovascular care, behavioral health, early detection cancer screening and maternal and infant health.
